Presentations

Interested in an exciting image show? I’d like to inspire the audience with exceptional perspectives as well as entertainment during my presentations with stories behind the images and background knowledge about the shown species. The talks are well suited for occasions such as club events or presentation evenings. Various organizations, like the Ornithological Society Basel as well as nature conservation organizations, have already booked me.

I offer the following presentations:

  • Wild Vancouver: Nature photography in and around a metropolis.Along with unforgettable experiences, I brought many impressive images back from my exchange term at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. Nature photography in a metropolis, which sounds bizarre at the beginning, is a small paradise in reality. Thousands of snow geese rest during their migration to the wintering area. One can observe multiple short-eared owls hunting along the wetlands while coyotes are howling next door. Shore birds as well as bald eagles are attracted by the great food supply by the impressive coastal areas. Not far away from the metropolis, black bears are waiting for the returning salmon.

  • In the empire of the ibex: masters of climbing and other inhabitants of the alpine range.I spend many weekends in the Swiss Alps. Many remarkable images emerged from the different conditions, ranging from cold winter days with fresh snow to warm thunderstorms during summer. The photos show the beauty and diversity of the Swiss mountain range. The ibex are the target of many excursions: they are true masters of climbing and are ideally adapted to the alpine life. A second focus lies on the feathered inhabitants of the mountains, namely the bearded vulture, the rock ptarmigan, and the spotted nutcracker. Landscape images complete the visual journey through the Alps.

  • Fascination southern France: from (nearly) silent gliding griffon beside steep cliffs to the noisy flamingos in the Camargue.I’m so heavily fascinated by the diversity of birds in southern France that I’ve spent multiple weeks in the area taking photos of them. The highlights are the thousands of greater flamingos which are highly communicative. They seem to show off when they argue in larger groups. The wetlands also host many heron and shore bird species, while bee-eaters are hunting in the air for dragon flies. The lagoons of the Camargue seem to be far away in the mountains behind. Here griffons offer a great aerial show when they pass by the cliffs searching for carrion.
